# Regent (heyregent)

> AI social media agent for creators. One unified workflow covers competitor research, content planning, AI script writing, voice cloning, AI avatar reels, carousel design, captions, Instagram publishing, DM funnels, and the insights loop. Currently in public beta on Instagram with a 100-creator cap. Built by Sumit Teli and Dr Xin Qin. Based in Long Beach, California.

## How Regent works (real setup flow)

1. Sign up at heyregent.com (free beta, 100-creator cap) and complete the 6-step onboarding: business profile, target audience, content style (tone + language), posting preferences (days, times, format mix), 1-5 competitor Instagram handles, and optional Instagram connect.
2. Connect an Instagram Business or Creator account via the official Meta OAuth flow (Settings -> Instagram -> Connect). Personal accounts must be converted first. Connection is optional for planning, required for auto-publish, insights, and DM automations.
3. Generate a weekly plan from the Calendar page: Regent researches your competitors and fills 7 days with topic, hook, format, and posting time per slot. Approve the plan to unlock content generation (fully-autonomous mode can auto-approve).
4. Clone your voice (Reel Generation -> Voice Cloning): record or upload a sample — 15 seconds minimum, 60-90 seconds of natural narration recommended for best quality. Create your AI avatar from one clear headshot (about 60 seconds to generate; multiple avatars supported, one photo each).
5. Generate content from calendar slots: reels render in the background with your avatar, cloned voice, and on-screen captions; carousels come with editable design variants. Every reel and carousel also ships with an auto-generated long-form companion document (lead magnet).
6. Review on the Content page, approve designs (or send to a human editor for a revision pass), schedule — posts auto-publish to Instagram at the set time, or publish manually from Scheduled Posts.
7. Set up comment-to-DM automations on published posts: any-comment or keyword trigger, rotating public replies, DM with {doc_url} link to the companion document, optional follower gate (ask to follow before delivery).
8. Insights sync followers, engagement, and per-post metrics from the Meta API and feed performance back into next week's plan.

Also included: link-in-bio page builder with custom handle, blocks (links, email capture, tip jar, booking), themes, and analytics with lead export; caption generator that burns styled captions onto any uploaded video.
