Video Editor

Edit the reels, the tutorials, the YouTube long-form, the demo deck videos. Both short-form (IG Reels / TikTok / Shorts) and long-form (YouTube tutorials, product walkthroughs).

1-month minimum commitment

Every founding volunteer commits to at least one month of consistent work. The longer you stay, the more experience you walk away with — and the closer we get to funding, where you become a paid hire first.

About the role

The Video Editor role is hands-on editing across the full Regent content stack. You take raw footage from the Content Creator + raw output from Regent, polish it for each platform, add captions / motion / hooks, and ship it back to the Social Media role to publish.

This role needs reliable turnaround. Short-form content is time-sensitive — when a trend lands on Tuesday, we cannot ship the polish on Friday. We are looking for an editor who can deliver a finished reel within 24–48 hours of receiving raw footage.

What you'll do

  • Edit short-form reels for IG / TikTok / Shorts with captions, motion, hooks.
  • Edit long-form YouTube tutorials and product walkthroughs.
  • Build a reusable template library so editing speed compounds.
  • Sync edits with the social posting cadence — fast turnaround required.
  • Quality control on Regent-generated raw output before public posting.
  • Coordinate with the Content Creator on shot notes and pacing.

Required

What we look for

  • Proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Sense for retention curves — hook timing, cut pacing, captions that hold.
  • Reliable 24–48h turnaround for time-sensitive content.
  • Audio editing fundamentals (levels, ducking, light music selection).
  • Creative thinking — you can source the right audio, SFX, B-roll, and visual references on your own without being told what to use.
  • Motion-graphics design ability — you can build informative, engaging videos with on-screen text, animated callouts, transitions, and visual storytelling beats.

Nice to have

Bonus skills

  • Advanced motion-graphics work in After Effects.
  • Color grading + LUT workflow comfort.
  • Prior experience editing for creator-economy brands.
  • Familiarity with Auto-Captions tools (Submagic, CapCut, etc.).
