Getting Started with Regent
Setting up Regent takes about 10 minutes. You create an account, answer six short onboarding steps about your business and audience, add competitors, and generate your first weekly content plan. Connecting Instagram is optional at this stage — planning works with just your handle.
Before you start
- A Regent account (beta access from heyregent.com)
Steps
- 1
Create your account
Apply for the beta at heyregent.com and sign up. After sign-in you land in onboarding automatically.
- 2
Describe your business (onboarding step 1)
Enter your business name, what it does, your niche (for example "fitness coaching" or "AI tools"), and your content goal: more followers, leads, sales, or authority.
- 3
Describe your audience (step 2)
Who you create for, their age range, location (optional), and the problems you solve for them. Regent uses this to angle every script.
- 4
Set your content style (step 3)
Pick a tone of voice (casual, professional, bold, or educational), language (English or Hinglish), and list topics Regent should never post about.
- 5
Set posting preferences (step 4)
Choose posts per week (1–7), which days you post, preferred time slots, and your format mix: reels-heavy, carousel-heavy, or balanced.
- 6
Add competitors (step 5)
Add 1–5 Instagram handles of accounts in your niche. Regent analyzes what performs for them and feeds it into your plan.
- 7
Connect Instagram — or skip (step 6)
Connect your Instagram Business or Creator account for publishing and insights, or skip for now. Planning and content generation work with a manual handle; you can connect later in Settings.
- 8
Generate your first weekly plan
From the Calendar page, click Generate Weekly Plan. Regent researches your competitors and builds a 7-day plan with a topic, hook, format, and posting time for each slot.
Frequently asked
Do I need to connect Instagram to use Regent?+
No. Planning and content generation work with just your Instagram handle. Connecting is required only for auto-publishing, insights, and DM automations.
How long does setup take?+
About 10 minutes for onboarding plus a few minutes for the first plan to generate. Voice cloning and avatar setup add roughly five more minutes when you get to reels.
Is the beta really free?+
Yes. The public beta is free and capped at 100 creators. Paid plans start at $24.99/month after beta.
Can I change my onboarding answers later?+
Yes. Competitors are editable from the Competitors page, and posting preferences and profile details can be revisited from onboarding at any time.
